… because of the open living rooms

Open living rooms, with a large glass window (sometimes with shutters) facing the main street, are very typical all over Israel, including Tel-Aviv. On warmish winter day or hot summer evenings, people slide these glass panels open to bring in some warmth or a little breeze. This is maybe a little lack of privacy, but a very convenient air-conditioning.

This openness virtually makes your couch a street bench, and you can hang out on a street without stepping out of your door!

I wonder if this is typical mainly to Israeli cities, or maybe it’s the same in other warm client countries.

P.S.: And here is another mark of patriotism – an Israeli flag hanging out of a window.

I think I would love that! I don't see this in my area.
